Age is no measure of an artist...

The other night I stumbled upon artist Emmy Cicierega's art. She's got amazing rhythm and linework and so many styles that she's masterful at that I could almost swear some of her sketches and illustrations were done by different artists. And then I saw her age... 21. That means she can only get better. Definitely makes other artists just a few years older than her want to get crackin' (*ahem* self!).
Keep rockin', Emmy!

Wishlists; Fun or Torture?

Most of the time I just post things that I think are awesomely designed and interesting and beautiful; but most of the things I find are pretty much out of my miniature price range. So this is list I'm putting together of things that I really do want and can probably afford!

1. I need new flats. Desperately.

I think these cute, leather, side-tied flats from Miz Mooz at Shoe Biz would be a good fall flat... but then again, only for jeans; I can't imagine wearing them with any dresses or skirts so maybe these cute brown ones by Ciao Bella?

2. A new sweater. The one that I have is cashmere and used to be my mom's until she gave it to me recently. The problem is that moths tend to like to nibble it and well, I also don't want to over-wear it, so I need an alternative; preferably something like one of these from Zara.

3. I need a new couch. At the present, this isn't a pressing issue, but at some point the futon in our living room is just going to become unbearable. So for when that day comes, perhaps a couch from Urban Outfitters will fit into the budget and the living room.

Anyways... enough of wishing, I should probably focus on making things instead and being productive!

Rain Down on Me

It's been pretty rainy in San Francisco recently and I have been thinking a lot about umbrellas and rainboots. And honestly, I should probably finally buy some rainboots because I'm a little tired of getting my feet wet. These Land's End Canvas ones look pretty simple and comfy, and because I'm feeling better with the sun out this morning, a shiny, clear umbrella from Mod Cloth seems like a good idea.

True Autumn Colors

I think the best colors of this season are dark burgundy, mustard yellow and navy blue. Not sure I dig the tie with the rest of this great style from The Sartorialist, but I'd definitely say that adding a sweater of that color or something would be an awesome exchange.

No white after Labor Day?

Cute dress from the new collection by Chloe.

Though the best part about the outfit, I think are the shoes, but the dress has a cut that would flatter almost anyone (though perhaps not the color for those of us with extra pale skin). We're not usually able to wear white regardless of the date; however, anyone with olive or darker skin tones would look elegant; like Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday.

Mon petit chou!

I have a bit of a romanticism in my heart for pumpkins. Every fall, I definitely end up more excited about picking pumpkins than any thing else; more so than dressing up, or baking pies (with Betty White!), or going to parties or decorating. I just love going to Green Bluff outside of Spokane and picking pumpkins in one of the local pumpkin patches.

Last year it was so cold so early that all of the pumpkins got frosted over and it ruined most of them still on the vine. I did however get to take home a couple of them and they lasted all the way until Halloween.

It's time to get into the spirit... (mmm puns!)

PS! - Mon petit chou means, "my little pumpkin" or "my little squash" in French!

Sweater Whore.

There is a bad place on the internet for me to be, and that place is on any website that lists multitudes of brands and products of clothing, especially Japanese and Korean lines like YesStyle.com. Their models and photographers and stylists make everything look so adorable that you think that everything will look as cute on you as it does on them. Well, at least maybe the yellow, blue and green sweaters that I found on there today might!

I don't skateboard...

...but something awesome like this wooden skateboard from Makr Carry Goods continues to reiterate to me what an awesome thing I'm missing out on learning.

Sadly, for anyone who actually does skateboard, this board (and it's black wood version) are sold out as they were only a limited edition make like the above photo shows. The best part about this all though? The fact that the makers specifically ask you to skate on it and not hang it up on your wall. Finally a designer who makes something that they actually want you to use! You can bet if I had one of these I'd use the crap out of it.

Holy October, Batman!

I can't believe that it's already the 5th of October and I haven't made a post yet!

It's only appropriate that I start with some true fall fashion. These cute, witchy, oxford pumps from Fossil are definitely on my wishlist and they would go perfectly with this adorable pleated party dress and nail polish from Need Supply Co.!

Hope you're all enjoying your October so far!
